From College Dropout To Fulltime Filmmaker: EZJ's FTF Testimonial

EZJ was an average college student, studying in a prestigious university. Like many other students, he was pursuing a degree in a field he wasn't passionate about, but it was what he thought would lead to a stable career. However, EZJ's real passion was filmmaking. He had been making short films and videos since high school, and he loved every aspect of the process, from writing the script to editing the final cut.

As he progressed through college, EZJ became increasingly disillusioned with his studies. He found himself skipping classes and spending more and more time on his own projects. Finally, he made the difficult decision to drop out of college and pursue his passion for filmmaking full-time. It wasn't an easy decision, but EZJ was determined to succeed. He spent countless hours honing his craft, learning new techniques and experimenting with different styles. He also took on freelance work, producing videos for small businesses and local organizations to build up his portfolio.

Despite the challenges, EZJ never lost sight of his goal. He knew that becoming a full-time filmmaker would require hard work, persistence, and a bit of luck. And he was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen.

EZJ hired as cinematographer for Twistle Healthcare commercial

I am thrilled to present the recent addition to my portfolio - a healthcare commercial for the innovative company, Twistle. This project was an incredibly rewarding experience, and I am excited to share the story behind my role as the cinematographer.

Project Overview:

Twistle is a healthcare technology company dedicated to transforming patient engagement and communication. When the Director of Photography (DP), Hari Mitar Khalsa, brought me onto this project, I was immediately captivated by Twistle’s mission to improve the medical patient experience with software. It was an honor to collaborate with a company so committed to making a positive impact in healthcare.

Role as Cinematographer:

As the cinematographer for this commercial, my responsibility was to capture the essence of Twistle's innovative solutions and their dedication to improving patient outcomes. I worked closely with the DP to develop a visual narrative that would effectively convey the company's core message.

My role involved:

1. Visual Concept Development: Collaborating with the creative team to conceptualize the visual style and approach that would best represent Twistle's brand and mission.

2. Shot Composition: Selecting and framing shots that highlight the key features and benefits of Twistle's healthcare technology.

3. Lighting and Cinematic Techniques: Ensuring that each scene was lit and shot to create a visually compelling and emotionally engaging narrative.

4. Equipment and Technical Expertise: Using state-of-the-art camera equipment and my technical expertise to capture high-quality footage.

5. Collaboration: Working closely with the director, producer, and post-production team to ensure the visual storytelling remained consistent and impactful throughout the project.

Challenges and Achievements:

One of the most exciting aspects of this project was the opportunity to creatively address the challenge of distilling complex healthcare technology into a visually engaging and easily understandable story. I am proud of how the team and I worked together to meet this challenge head-on and produce a commercial that effectively communicates Twistle's mission and offerings.

I'm incredibly proud of the final result and am grateful to have been a part of this project. It has been a privilege to contribute my cinematography skills to a company that is making a difference in the healthcare industry, and I look forward to taking on more projects that allow me to bring stories to life through the lens.
